overseas dentists
There are plenty of opportunities within Oasis for overseas
dentists to experience the delivery of high quality dentistry in a
UK environment.
Since patient communication remains a strong part of our ethos
of customer service, we expect strong standards of English from all
recruits.
Our recruitment teams make a number of overseas visits each year
to identify suitable candidates. Initial clinical interviews and
English tests are held.
All overseas associates will also take part in our 5 day
'Fitness to Practice' induction programme held at our Bristol
Support Centre where dentists will be given a detailed introduction
to the rules and regulations of the UK dental environment and
assessed on a wide range of clinical topics. The majority of the
course, which is delivered by our clinical experts, focuses on
delivering high quality dentistry in a UK environment. All overseas
associates are required to attend and pass this week before they
are able to perform dentistry in an Oasis practice.
In keeping with all of our associates, once in practice, our
overseas dentists will continue to be supported by our Regional
Clinical Support Teams who are there to provide mentoring, clinical
advice and face-to-face support.
Alba Torrado, dentist at The Dereham Dental Health Centre

just over nine months, working as a dentist at the Dereham Dental
Health Practice in Norfolk. She qualified in 2009 from Galician
university, Santiago de Compostela.
Alba said "I wanted to relocate in the UK because I have always
been attracted by British culture, music and lifestyle. Moreover, I
heard about the opportunities England offers to dentists so I was
completely sure I wanted to give it a chance."

Adrianna Cadelo, dentist at the Cecil Street Dental Practice in
Carlisle
Adrianna has lived in the UK for the past seven months. She
moved over from Madrid, accompanied by her husband and two
daughters.
Speaking of her experience of the dentistry sector in the UK,
she said, "The idea of NHS dentistry to run alongside private
treatment options for patients is such a great idea. Although there
can be a lot of work to do as a dentist, the fact that individuals
are given a helping hand to pay for dental care means oral health
can be kept at a high standard. Many countries, such as Spain, are
not able to provide this benefit so this country is privileged to
have this."
